General

This is a session favourite and should be part of your core repertoire.

Right Hand

  • Reel timing, so alternating - T I T I T I T I
  • Some index cross-over picking in the A part.
  • I slip into alternating 3-finger picking for the Em shape in the B part. A good example of not making it more difficult than it needs to be.

Left Hand

  • A Part played out of the D chord position, 2nd fret.
  • B Part moves up the neck to the D and Em shapes at the 7th fret.

Play with:

Cooley's, Silver Spear, Merry Blacksmith, Dunmore Lasses
